The Tender Loving Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that was started by parents of "graduates" of the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) within the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System (NSLIJHS).

Its primary goal is to see that the NICUs, as well as the entire perinatal health care environment, evolve along family-centered care ideals.

Members of the TLC Foundation are deeply committed advocates for future parents, who normally have no idea what to expect when informed that their new-born baby will need "critical care" or will need to be housed in a "NICU."

The TLC Foundation's mission is to bring about a brighter, stress-free beginning for all families whose children may one day be in need of neonatal health care services.
